Frédéric Nicolet
Founder and author of CapBitcoin
Born in 1975, I live in Switzerland and have spent more than a decade observing the technologies that shake up our established systems. Bitcoin entered my life in 2015, almost out of curiosity. That year I even considered mining, a project quickly abandoned in the face of Swiss electricity prices, hardly forgiving for that kind of adventure.
Then came a more conventional phase: in 2018, like many, I turned to altcoins, drawn by the promise of quick returns. But 2020 is when everything truly changed. I took the time to understand in depth what Bitcoin really is: not one currency among others, but a technological and monetary breakthrough of rare significance. That understanding deepened further in 2021, until it became a firm conviction: since 2022, I invest in Bitcoin only, exclusively.
Today, I would describe myself as a Bitcoin maximalist. What drives me is the capacity certain disruptive technologies have to profoundly reshape a society and its monetary system. Bitcoin is one of them, and I am convinced of it: it is not reserved for a tech-savvy elite, it concerns everyone.
That is the conviction I want to share here, with you.
